2023-4-14 Snapshot of Brad’s DJ Fantasy

During class, Brad is called up to present his science project. He’s nervous about it and needs a bit of coaxing. In his mind, he lunges to the front of the class and is standing at a DJ platform before the class and starts working the turntables.

The class is made in SketchUp and rendered with V-ray. He is animated in Character Animator. The scene is compiled in Final Cut Pro X.

In the corner of the classroom, there is a model skeleton behind the teacher’s desk. When Brad starts ripping at the turntables, the skeleton comes alive and starts dancing behind him. The students fade from zero opacity to 60% opacity and move about with the handheld filter as they cheer on Brad excitedly. A red curtain drops as though Brad is in a big performance.

Rekordbox is the DJ software used with the Pioneer controller to lay down the ripping drum and bass beat while scratching one of Rex’s lines from the prior scene about the nuclear fusion reactor project.
