2023-2-26 Snapshot with Rex in teleporter

In this part of the scene, Rex has joined the conversation by way of his teleporter. As explained in the title sequence song, Rex programmed his teleporter to send him to earth where ever Brad in case he needs help. All Brad needs to do is say or think the word “maple.” This is selected because Rex patrols over North America, and the Canadian flag has a maple leaf on it. Choosing that word was spontaneous for him, but it happens to sound similar to the name Mabel, who is Brad’s friend. So if someone near Brad says her name, he thinks it as he hears it, and the teleporter sends Rex to Brad’s location. In the scene below, Sammy (off screen at the moment) says Mabel and Rex appears.

The teleporter was made in photoshop and then animated in Adobe Animate. The new warp tool allows the cylinder to appear like it’s oscillating left and right, wiggling. The short exported movie with alpha background from Animate is then imported into Final Cut Pro X and repeated for as long as the teleporter remains in the scene. It’s advisable to create a Compound Clip with the duplicated parts. This is crucial if the scene will have pans and zooms.

Also in this scene, Rex is demonstrating graphically what nuclear fusion is by telepathically squeezing two balls together that create a larger, glowing sphere. One of the Energy generators from Pixar Studios plugin library gives a dynamic sense of energy encircling the sphere.
