Epsilon is a robotic cat-like being that Rex created while in space. Technically, he made Epsilon before he had the idea to conceive his own child by using a human donor egg and his own genetic material. You know, the whole backstory is explained in the title sequence video. Epsilon becomes Rex’s sole companion again on his ship when Brad goes to Earth, although Rex will make an appearance time and again to see Brad.
