2023-8-21 Musical selection and rights

An aspect I thoroughly enjoyed about putting the audio together was the use of musical works that pre-date 1926. At the present, that is the cut off date for music that is considered in the Public Domain and therefore characterized as Fair Use.

In this sense, there are numerous classical works that are utilized, which is not uncommon in film and television. Unique to this project though is also the utilization of works from the 1910’s and 1920’s, and even earlier.

The rest of the music, as indicated in the credits of the animated short/pilot episode “Highly Energized Lines,” was sourced from LucidSamples.com, who gave explicit permission for use in the project.

Generally speaking, the timing work out quite serendipitously for many of the musical works, and other times the timing was very calculated in order to add extra dimension to specific scenes.
